BioTek Instruments, Inc., a global leader in the development, manufacture and sale of microplate instrumentation for drug discovery and life science solutions, welcomes Dr. Dirk Frese to the company as Managing Director, Europe, effective immediately. In this newly created position, Dr. Frese is responsible for business integration and advancement within Europe.

Peter Weith, BioTek's Vice President of Marketing, notes, "Dr. Frese has a unique set of skills, creating cutting-edge business development programs, within Europe and globally, for a recognized market leader. In addition, his strong academic background will resonate with our research-based products."

Before joining BioTek, Dr. Frese was Director and Global Category Manager for Analytical Technologies at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Additional prior positions include European Marketing Director for Fisher Scientific, and several management positions at Merck Eurolab and Ciba-Geigy. Following the receipt of his degree in organic chemistry and biochemistry, Dr. Frese held academic and clinical positions at the Technical University Berlin and University Hospital Benjamin Franklin.
