Enhanced Analytical Syringe Precision from ARC Sciences

publication date: Feb 22, 2011

SGE's new electronic syringe system, eVolTMImprove your analytical syringe performance with SGE's new electronic syringe system, eVolTM. An electronic digital drive that combines with the new XchangeTM syringes, eVol can accurately dispense volumes between 200nl and 500ul using just 3 different volume syringes.

The positive displacement of the Xchange syringes is ideal for handling none aqueous solvents, as well as water based solutions. Various modes include repeat and continuous dispense. Custom methods can also be created for developing mixing routines or controlled speed dispense, for e.g. TLC spotting.  There is a specific kit for use with NMR for the preparation of standards and also kits to allow the automation of sample preparation using SGE's MEPSTM (MicroExtraction by Packed Sorbent).  The MEPS products are a significant advance in the preparation of samples which requires SPE. By locating small quantities of sorbent in the barrel of an analytical syringe, the volume of sample and solvent required for SPE is dramatically reduced. This offers major savings in both time and cost. For large numbers of samples, kits are available for CTC, Shimadzu, Gerstel and HTa Autosamplers. For smaller numbers, the eVol is the preferred choice, bringing the precision benefits of automation to manual sample preparation. The Xchange syringes are based on SGE's Diamond syringe technology. Similarly priced to a standard manual syringe, but lasting up to 400 times longer, Diamond syringes are the last word in syringe performance.
