Innovative coating on CELLview slide glass bottom provides a plastic like culture surface for use with sensitive cells

Greiner Bio-OneGreiner Bio-One, a technology partner for the diagnostic and pharmaceutical industry, is unveiling its new CELLview slide at the European Biotechnica trade show in Hanover, Germany. The slide’s glass bottom is now available with both a TC-treated surface, for simple applications, and an Advanced TC-treated surface for more complex experiments such as multiple immunological staining or live cell analysis of sensitive cells. Greiner Bio-One developed this new glass coating technology with the specific aim of creating a plastic-like surface to grow cell cultures on. Glass is typically not a substance that is normally conducive to cell adhesion but this special coating now enables optimum cell growth on glass surfaces, too.

The ideal surface for all kinds of applications

CELLview slide can be used for live cell analysis and high-resolution microscopy. As morphology and vitality of cells are essential for a successful analysis, the slide’s different surfaces provide the ideal experimental conditions for all kinds of applications.

User friendly design

The TC- or Advanced TC-treated 175 µm thick borosilicate cover glass is embedded in a transparent plastic slide equipped with a detachable black polystyrene housing. This housing divides the slide into ten round compartments, each of which has the dimensions of a well on a standard 96 well microplate.

The new CELLview slide with Advanced TC surface – the latest addition to the CELLview product line – will be on display for the first time at Biotechnica in Hanover, Germany, from 6 to 8 October 2015.
