EM Resolutions has been appointed by Energy Beam Sciences (EBS) as exclusive distributor for their tungsten EM filaments and Denka Lanthanum Hexaboride (LaB6) cathodes in the UK and Ireland. As an industry leader in applied energy beam technologies, EBS has built a reputation for superior design and craftsmanship, manufacturing filaments with outstanding performance and longevity. 

The high quality, high stability tungsten EM filaments are designed to exceed the specifications of the original equipment manufacturers and are available for all major brands of scanning and transmission electron microscopes. Manufactured to ensure precise tip geometry, EBS filaments are precisely aligned then annealed in high vacuum to reduce stress in the filament. This guarantees optimum stability, maximum brightness, longer lifetime and overall lower running costs. 

Denka are the industry standard for high quality LaB6 cathodes. The lifetime of a Denka LaB6 cathode far exceeds that of a tungsten source providing a more stable source over a longer period. Denka uses the purest, high quality LaB6 crystals for their cathodes, producing 10x or higher brightness and increased resolution compared to a standard tungsten source. 

With its unique design the cathode construction uses the same base as the equivalent tungsten filaments enabling Denka M-3 LaB6 cathodes to be used as a direct replacement. 

The LaB6 crystal forms the tip of the cathode, connected to the pins through the tungsten wires and is directly heated by the filament current.
