Troubleshooting Problematic Freeze-drying Cycles and Formulations

spscientificpr5-image.jpgSP Scientific Inc., the world leader in laboratory, pilot, and production freeze dryers, has announced a new LyoLearn webinar that focuses upon troubleshooting problematic freeze-drying cycles and formulations.

It is not unusual for lyophilized products to fail during manufacturing at the commercial level due either to poorly designed lyophilisation cycles or poorly designed formulations.  By understanding the thermal characteristics of the formulated product, it is possible to specifically identify the problem, and then troubleshoot and correct the problems with either the formation or the lyophilisation cycle itself.

Chaired by Dr Jeff Schwegmann - CEO of AB Biotechnologies - the scope of the April 20th 2010 webinar will be to discuss the physical properties of materials followed by working through case studies of failed products to identify the problems, suggest the reasons for failure, and determine a plan of action for fixing the problems to prevent future failures.

SP Scientific's program of free educational webinars devoted to freeze-drying topics follow a 30-minute format for the presentations with a Q&A session immediately afterwards.  To register for the April 20th 2010 webinar please visit http://spscientificevents.webex.com/ or contact SP Scientific on +1-845-255-5000 (+44-1473-240000 in Europe).

SP Scientific is a leading manufacturer of laboratory to production scale freeze dryers / lyophilizers, centrifugal evaporators and concentrators, thermal control system and glassware washers. The company sells its products under well-known brands including Hotpack®, VirTis®, FTSTM and Genevac®. SP Scientific has ISO 9001:2000 registered production facilities in the USA and Europe.
