Corning is a long-standing partner of SLS, and has been attending the Scientific Laboratory Show and Conference since its inception. We spoke to Corning’s Joana Faustino-Kemp to find out why the company attends and what it has in store for visitors to this year’s show.

SLS is one of our key UK distributors, and we have been working closely with the company for many years. Our organisations share many of the same values – especially in terms of quality and customer service – and SLS’ application-focused approach is a natural fit with our own workflow-based portfolio, which covers genomics, cell culture, microbiology and bioprocessing. The Scientific Laboratory Show and Conference is an excellent opportunity for us to further strengthen this relationship with SLS – which ultimately benefits customers – and provides a vital opportunity to speak to end-users about the day-to-day scientific challenges they face. This feedback is a vital part of our innovation process, and helps to inspire the products of tomorrow.

This year’s show will see all of our brands represented – Corning®, Falcon® and Axygen® – and we will be showcasing the recently launched Corning Cell Counter on the stand. The world’s fastest and most accurate cell counter, this exciting new product has been developed by cell biology pioneer CytoSMART Technologies, and combines speed and accuracy to offer practical and cost-effective automated cell counting. A range of other benchtop systems will also be on display – including a PCR plate spinner and shaking incubator, plus our new mini centrifuge and repeater – and we will be giving visitors the chance to win vouchers up to a value of £500 to redeem on orders. Plus, of course, the Corning team will be on hand to answer questions and provide advice on our complete product portfolio. 

For Corning, the Scientific Laboratory Show and Conference is about more than just products – it’s also about sharing knowledge. A member of our European Scientific Support Team will be available throughout the event to discuss attendees’ applications and share their expertise. We will also be running two seminars – one discussing 3D cell culture solutions, and the other offering practical guidance on avoiding cell culture contamination. These will help customers get the most value from their resources and their experiments.
