Freeman Technology shares powder characterisation expertise at APT 2012

On 5 July 2012, as part of the Asian Particle Technology Symposium ,Tim Freeman, Managing Director of Freeman Technology and an expert in powder characterisation, will present two papers covering the evaluation and influence of powder flow properties.

Tim FreemanVisitors to the symposium will also have the opportunity to investigate Freeman Technology's FT4 Powder Rheometer on the DKSH exhibition booth.

Both of Tim Freeman's papers will present the benefits of better data for more informed powder handling in manufacturing processes. The first will focus on how to evaluate the effect of vibration-induced powder compaction through flow property measurement and the second will look at the influence of powder flow properties on the filling of dies and capsules.

Answering to the growing demand for its FT4 universal powder tester in the dynamic Asian markets, Freeman Technology has significantly expanded its activities with the appointment last year of DKSH as its distribution partner in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Taiwan. A long-established and respected distributor of analytical instrumentation, DKSH operates in 35 countries.

The FT4 Powder Rheometer is a universal powder tester that uses patented dynamic methodology, fully automated shear cells and several bulk property tests, including density, compressibility and permeability to quantify powder properties in terms of flow and processability. Correlating this data with processing performance enables users to optimise powder processes.

About Freeman Technology

Freeman Technology specialises in systems for measuring the flow properties of powders and has over a decade of experience in powder flow and powder characterisation. Expert teams provide detailed know-how alongside the company's universal powder tester, the FT4 Powder Rheometer.

The FT4 Powder Rheometer uses patented dynamic methodology, a fully automated shear cell and several bulk property tests to quantify powder properties in terms of flow and processability. Systems are installed around the world across many different industries. They deliver data that maximise process and product understanding, accelerating R&D and formulation towards successful commercialisation, and supporting the long term optimisation of powder processes.

Freeman Technology's headquarters are in Gloucestershire, UK, with a wholly owned subsidiary in the USA and distribution partners in China, India, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. In 2007 the company received the Queen's Award for Enterprise in Innovation and in 2012 the Queen's Award for Enterprise in International Trade
