Join BioTek Instruments for a FREE Webinar: A New Look at Cell-based Assays in a Multi-Mode Microplate Reader Using Fluorescence Microscopy

Biotek Webinar

Event Date: June 27, 2013 at 12:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time

Multi-mode microplate readers are a useful tool for cell-based assays. These instruments use PMT-based optics to provide a cell population-averaged assay signal relative to assay controls that can quantify biomolecule expression, activation, inhibition and post-translational modulation. Fluorescence microscopy allows the analysis of sub-populations of cells or even analysis of a single cell, depending on the magnification used.

In this webinar we will demonstrate this dual capability using the Cytation™3 Cell imaging Multi-Mode Reader, which incorporates automated digital widefield fluorescence microscopy to perform sub-population analysis of cells in microplates. In addition, the PMT-based optics are used in conjunction with fluorescence microscopy to enable both cell population and sub-population analysis. Examples presented will include quantification of transfection efficiency, target-based inhibition studies with accompanying cell viability determination and phenotypic assays of oxidative stress and hypoxia.
