The Chromatrap® Enzymatic Shearing Kit provides an excellent method for the preparation of high quality, ideally fragmented chromatin for ChIP analysis.

The Chromatrap® Enzymatic Shearing Kit The success of a ChIP assay is highly dependent on the quality of chromatin prepared. The Enzymatic shearing kit provides buffers to optimise the shearing conditions of your chromatin by enzymatic digestion.

Chromatin prepared using this kit demonstrates excellent enrichment, independent of starting cell number. With its quick and simple protocol the Chromatrap® Enzymatic Shearing Kit is the perfect cost-effective alternative to sonication.

The Enzymatic Shearing Kit from Chromatrap contains all the necessary reagents and buffers for up to 10 chromatin preparations. This generates enough chromatin to perform up to 24 ChIPs using a standard Chromatrap® ChIP spin column kit or up to 96 IPs using the Chromatrap® 96 HT microplate kit.

Launched worldwide in 2012 - Chromatrap® solid-state ChIP technology has been shown by a growing number of research groups worldwide to be more efficient than conventional bead-based methods. This is because the solid phase porous polymer, functionalized with either protein A or G, provides a greater surface area for chromatin antibody binding with very low non-specific binding. In addition, it uses a spin column approach, offering significant speed, process and carry-over advantages over sepharose or magnetic beads. DNA pull down with Chromatrap® is up to 25 times more than conventional methods, whilst the signal to noise ratio for DNA enrichment is 2 to 3 times better, even with low chromatin samples between 50ng to 3000ng per immunoprecipitation.
