Honeywell hand protection

Honeywell has published the first in a two part series of eGuides to help workers and health and safety professionals choose the right chemical protective gloves.

‘A Guide To Selecting Chemical Protective Gloves – Part 1’ offers a simple six-step method for glove selection that can be used to ensure a worker’s hands are fully protected in a range of applications involving chemicals.

The eGuide explains the importance of knowing the dangers posed by chemicals workers can encounter on the job, how to select the proper glove based on the risks workers face and how to properly size and fit them.  It also outlines the relevant European safety standards safety managers should be aware of, along with the relevant markings to help them choose the right gloves.

“Many cases of damage to the hands are the result of contact with chemicals, so ensuring that workers wear the correct protective gloves is paramount,” said Stéphanie Quilliet, strategic product leader-EMEA for head and bodyproducts at Honeywell Industrial Safety. “There isn’t a ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution to choosing the correct glove, so workers and health and safety managers must consider several important factors depending on the task and application in question.”
