GOW-MAC Instrument Co. Achieves ISO 9001:2008 Quality System Certification GOW-MAC®
Instrument Co., Bethlehem, PA-based manufacturer of gas chromatographs and gas
analyzers, has received ISO 9001:2008 certification by way of BSI Group America
Inc. (BSI), a leading global provider of ISO-standards-based assurance,
compliance, and information solutions. Frank Rocchino, Director of Compliance
and Documentation at GOW-MAC, explains, "GOW-MAC has been producing
high-precision analytical instrumentation for over 75 years, so the concept of
‘quality' is certainly something that was a fundamental component of our
culture. However, conforming an entire company's Quality Management System to
meet the stringent ISO 9001:2008 Standard requires a total commitment from the
entire company. We were fortunate to have unwavering support from top
management, as well as an enthusiastic response from the employees during the
entire process. Without both of those, this project would've been
impossible." During a company celebration, Jeffrey Lawson, President/CEO recognized the GOW-MAC team, saying that, "This is a very important accomplishment for GOW-MAC. I am very proud of our employees. They are the ones that really made the ISO 9001:2008 registration possible with a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication. This is a clear sign to our customers that GOW-MAC is committed to continually improving our quality management system in order to meet their needs and the needs of evolving analytical markets." Ken Fincke, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at GOW-MAC, added, "Those manufacturers seeking to access new markets largely need ISO 9001:2008 accreditation in place to do so. The certification allows us to move quickly on to the next phase of our product development."
