Straightforward determination of sulphate in fertilizers in less than two minutes

MetrohmThermometric titration performed on Metrohm’s new 859 Titrotherm is a straightforward method to determine sulphate in liquid/granular fertilizers or wet process phosphoric acid. The method uses titration with a solution of BaCl2 to an exothermic endpoint. Thermometric titration outperforms any other method used for this application as it is

The 859 Titrotherm is a USB-enabled thermometric titrator with four MSB connections for model 800 Dosino dispensing systems and stirrers. Titrotherm is controlled by tiamo™, the leading titration software.

The heart of the 859 Titrotherm is the Thermoprobe, a temperature sensor with an extremely short response time of just 0.3 seconds and a high resolution of 10-5 K. This makes the Thermoprobe the ideal sensor for thermometric titration, as it can follow any change in temperature extremely fast and accurately. The housing made of polypropylene (PP) and epoxy resin makes the Thermoprobe insensitive to organic solvents and aggressive media.
