SGS VERNOLAB ANNOUNCES NEW DEVELOPMENT

publication date: May 5, 2010

SGS Vernolab, part of the SGS Group, the world's leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company is pleased to announce plans to build a new, state of the art laboratory and sampling equipment facility at their current UK head quarters in Ellesmere Port.

SGS Vernolab provides a specialist sampling equipment and used lubricant analysis service. As oil circulates around equipment it collects valuable information. Used lubricant analysis provides a cost effective health check on the condition of the oil as well a predictive assessment of the equipment itself.

The new building will extend from the existing SGS UK OGC (Oil Gas and Chemicals) fuels and lubricants laboratory, resulting in the lubricants, fuels, chemicals and gas testing, metrology and inspection services being dealt with in one location.

Paul Parkinson, Analytical Laboratories Services Manager comments, "The investment by SGS will provide a better service to current and future clients as well as securing a number of jobs in the region."

Since BP Castrol announced it was to cease its blending operations at its Stanlow facility, where SGS Vernolab currently resides, SGS has been investigating possible locations and solutions to continue the provision of their specialist services.

"We wanted to develop a solution that not only maintained our current level of service but enhanced the service provided to our clients. We feel that the opportunity for our clients to have all these services in one location will be a great benefit" adds Paul.

Building work on the new development is due to start in April 2010 and will be completed by December 2010. The new development will not bring any disturbance to existing and future work commitments.
