885 Compact Oven Sample Changer – automated thermal sample preparation for Karl Fischer titration

885 Compact Oven Sample ChangerMetrohm is pleased to introduce the 885 Compact Oven Sample Changer, a new, economically priced instrument for automated thermal sample preparation in Karl Fischer titration. The 885 Compact Oven Sample Changer excels by a very small footprint, ease of use and its great flexibility. Thus, the new instrument can be used with all stand-alone Karl Fischer titrators with sample table and for volumetric and coulometric titrations alike.

The 885 Compact Oven Sample Changer is ideally suited to automate the preparation of samples that release their water only at high temperatures, are difficult to dissolve or react with the KF reagent. In the oven the samples can be heated up to 250 ºC. The moisture contained in the samples evaporates and is transported by a stream of dry carrier gas into the titration cell, where the analysis proper takes place.

The 885 Compact Oven Sample Changer is controlled by way of an integral keypad. Only the oven temperature and the gas flow need to be defined and the number of samples set. If the titrator is linked to a balance, the weight of the samples does not need to be entered manually.

Screw-cap vials are used with the 885 Compact Oven Sample Changer. They can be opened and cleaned after the analysis and then be reused. Only the pierced septa need to be replaced.
