Bio-Chem Fluidics Receives Chinese Business License

Production and sales begin at new Shanghai factory.jpgBoonton, NJ (January 5, 2010) - Bio-Chem Fluidics, a world leading manufacturer of inert, miniature fluid handling components for laboratory instrumentation, received a Chinese Business License for its new factory in Shanghai. The company is now a Wholly Foreign-Owned Enterprise (WFOE) and has full import/export capabilities.

Bio-Chem has already begun manufacturing and sales of finished products and electrical sub-assemblies, with more new products to be introduced over the coming months. The Shanghai factory will also serve as a global sourcing center for operations in North America and Europe. Bio-Chem Fluidics is one of four Halma companies (including Castell Safety, Labsphere and Ocean Optics) that have begun production at the site.

"We see China and the rest of Asia as a major growth market and we want to emphasize that we're manufacturing in Asia primarily for an Asian customer base," says VP of Manufacturing, Tim O'Sullivan.
