Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Eclipse Tribrid mass spectrometer reinvigorates high-end protein research with expanded analysis capabilities
Scientists in academic, government and biopharmaceutical laboratories who are faced with increasingly complex research challenges now have access to a digitally advanced Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Tribrid mass spectrometry (MS) platform that includes a new high-performance MS with inherent flexibility and built-in intelligence to enable critical insights and breakthroughs.

The real-time capabilities of the Orbitrap Eclipse Tribrid mass spectrometer use the latest, built-in intelligence-driven data acquisition strategies to enhance experimental efficiency and ultimately accelerate tandem mass tagging (TMT)for multiplexed quantitative analysis of proteomes. Peptide spectra are searched in real-time against a study-specific database. Those that match then proceed for further analysis, significantly increasing the speed of analysis and accuracy of results. In addition, the new system extends structural analysis up tom/z8,000, which enables the isolation and selective dissociation of protein complexes into their individual components, as well as revealing further insights about their exact structure.
Thermo Fisher Scientific showcased its new Orbitrap Eclipse Tribrid instrument during the 67th American Society for Mass Spectrometry (ASMS) Conference on Mass Spectrometry and Allied Topics, being held June 2–6, in the International Ballroom at the Omni CNN Center Hotel, Atlanta, Georgia.
