Thermo Fisher ScientificThe event, hosted by Thermo Fisher Scientific, showcases the very latest in laboratory innovations with thousands of products in action and is ideal for anyone who works in or around a laboratory.

Celebrating the 25th Science World marks a significant milestone in the company’s history. Organised by Thermo Fisher Scientific, the world leader in serving science, this show provides an unrivalled day out for all those involved in the laboratory industry and is completely free of charge to attend.

“Science World welcomes everyone from serious research scientists to lab technicians and purchasing professionals to new entry scientists,” said Emily Quinton, European Marketing Communications Manager for Thermo Fisher Scientific. “Our aim is not only to educate, but also engage at every level. Science World provides a comprehensive programme including keynote speakers, demonstrations and expo, giving visitors the opportunity to get hands-on with the latest products from industry-leading suppliers and enjoy all of the activities on offer.”

Speaking for the first time is Michael Stevens, the persona behind YouTube sensation Vsauce. Michael will be taking an innovative look at the science behind seemingly ordinary phenomena with his presentation entitled “Curiosity. The importance of asking questions: Mindblowing science in everyday life.”

Dr Hal (Sosabowski), Professor of Public Understanding of Science at the University of Brighton, will once again enthrall audiences with his chemical spectacular covering “An Explosive Odyssey! Journey to the Centre of the Periodic Table: Thermodynamics and Kenetics – but not as you know them” and “Braving the Elements: Voyage to the Darker Reaches of the Periodic Table. Gases in Disguise.”

With balloon creations from Mr. and Mrs. Ballooniverse, a caricaturist and Titan the Robot bringing a unique blend of comedy, street theatre and music, visitors will have plenty to entertain and enjoy alongside the exhibition booths. The event also features a pop-up spa and Tipster racecourse tours.

Visitors can join in the 25th Science World celebrations with a “Tweet to Win” competition on event day to win a silver Mini iPad as well as a number of £25 spot prizes for those engaging on the Twitter wall.
