This efficient reprogramming of somatic cells is accomplished without viral intermediates or host genome integration, offering a more defined and safer system for iPSC generation. "For stem cell researchers using iPSCs to study disease, differentiation and regenerative medicine, there's a real need for a reprogramming method that's as efficient as virus-based techniques yet as safe as non-viral methods," said Christophe Couturier, Head of Bioscience, Merck Millipore...
The conference theme, "Predictable Protein Performance," will bring industry experts from around the world to discuss different aspects of this important topic. Conference speakers will explore why analyzing protein expression, structure, and function is key to any biological discovery and also outline strategies that researchers can take to ensure that the protein in their tubes accurately represents its native form, in its physiological context. Virtual Conference participants will learn how to maximize the information that can be obtained from each precious protein sample, no matter how complex or challenging it might be...
The service supports exploratory and GLP-requiring studies, and includes full and flexible assay development, validation and sample testing services using clinically established flow cytometry instrumentation. The launch completes the significant investment Merck Millipore has made over the past two years to develop flow cytometry services globally, building on the existing industry-leading flow cytometry capabilities of the company's European testing site in Oxford, UK...
Merck Millipore offers a comprehensive portfolio of reliable and reproducible LC-MS separation tools even for the most challenging analysis problems in research and development, quality control, environmental, clinical and biochemical analysis.Merck Millipore will host a breakfast seminar on HILIC and analytical chromatography. Presentations include a discussion on how separation selectivity differs between HILIC columns; models will be shown to explain how to select columns....
This technology allows for carrier- free cellular endocytosis of the reagent, followed by detection and relative quantitative analysis of RNA levels. Because the reagent leaves the cell after the detection event, the same sample can be used for any downstream analysis, meaning you can assess multiple biomarkers or downstream functionalities in the same cells. Additionally, this reagent requires no upfront sample preparation, has no toxic effects on cellular fate and no known nonspecific, off-target effects....
These kits are the first commercially available multiplexed protein biomarker assays based on the Luminex® xMAP® platform for this important research area. This new application of trusted bead-based multiplex technology gives researchers rapid feedback on the potency status of stem cell cultures and offers a significant advantage over existing techniques, which detect a limited number of proteins with a semi-quantitative output for a single sample...
Genetic and epigenetic technologies added to established CRO services for biomarker development, validation and testing
Enables more rapid and efficient management, tracking, and analysis of multiplex assays
Merck Millipore, the Life Science division of Merck, has introduced the Magna ChIPTM HT96 kit for high-throughput chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP). Using the kit, ChIP can be performed on up to 96 samples in a single experiment using as few as 10,000 cells per well. The optimized protocol uses a single, proprietary buffer for sonication, immunoprecipitation and washing which yields excellent sensitivity and lower backgrounds than conventional ChIP methods...
Merck Millipore, the Life Science division of Merck KGaA of Darmstadt, Germany, today launched the Direct DetectTM system for rapid, simplified protein quantitation. The Direct DetectTM system exploits Merck Millipore's membrane expertise to enable infrared-based measurement of amide bonds in protein chains, an intrinsic component of every protein, without relying on amino acid composition, dye-binding properties, or redox potential. Conventional assays based on UV-Vis spectroscopy rely on absorbance by a protein's aromatic amino acids and therefore have limited utility.
