With years of experience in the pharmaceutical and life science sector, Creative Diagnostics now launches the DiagNano™ silica magnetic particles for researchers, which can be used for nucleic acids isolation and purification though the DNA/RNA-silica interaction method.

The new silica magnetic particles are also available with functional protein ligands (avidin, streptavidin, protein A, albumin) or biotin. They can be offered with the nickel(II) chelator nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA) or be ready to use with the corresponding nickel complex (Ni-NTA) for the binding of histidine labeled proteins.

These new magnetic particles are produced by hydrolysis of orthosilicates in the presence of magnetite and have a hydrophilic surface with terminal Si-OH-bonds and can easily be separated with conventional permanent magnets. They are extremely stable in organic solvents and at high temperatures. Silica coating not only contributes to the improved stability and prolonged shelf-life due to inertness of silica, but also facilitates the surface functionalization by providing various active reacting groups, including OH, NH2, COOH, SH, N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) and epoxy for the covalent binding of proteins, antibodies, or other molecules.

The magnetic silica particles are also available with a hydrophobic octadecyl (C18) surface, and can be delivered with an organic polymer shell (coreshell method) on request. Many new products are accessible at Creative Diagnostics, such as the Absolute Mag™ COOH Silica Magnetic Particles, 1.5 µm, Absolute Mag™ Epoxy Silica Magnetic Particles, 1.5 µm, Absolute Mag™ NH2 Silica Magnetic Particles, 1.5 µm, Absolute Mag™ Streptavidin Silica Magnetic Particles, 1.5 µm, and Absolute Mag™ Plain Silica Magnetic Particles, 6 µm, which are prepared according to a modified Stoeber process by hydrolysis of orthosilicates and related compounds.

"We are excited to introduce the DiagNano™ silica magnetic particles to researchers to help address the demands of cost-effective and high-quality magnetic particles. We always make efforts to meet our clients' need for research and industrial prospect development." said Dr. Jessica Waldorf, chief scientific officer of R&D department, at Creative Diagnostics. "These new products have a wide variety of applications, and we believe it can meet their requirements."

"We partner with researchers by enabling them access to our broad portfolio of high quality magnetic particles to advance their scientific discoveries. Creative Diagnostics' magnetic particles quality and performance is a key consideration in ensuring the success of your projects", said Alex, one of a senior scientific officers at Creative Diagnostics. "We are glad to provide our clients silica magnetic particles to help solve their challenges and support their ground-breaking research."
