Fluidigm announced an agreement to develop and supply a customized version of its high- throughput library prep system to the DKMS (Deutsche Knochenmarkspenderdatei gemeinnützige Gesellschaft mbH) Life Science Lab. The new system will help the DKMS accelerate its research to fight against blood cancer by ultimately enabling it to characterize the HLA genes from several thousand samples a week for its donor registry...
The Single-Cell Genomics Center is also expected to act as a hub for collaboration among single-cell genomics researchers in many pioneering fields, including stem cells and cancer biology. The Center will be housed at the Broad Institute in Cambridge, Massachusetts and will feature a complete suite of Fluidigm single-cell tools, protocols and technologies, most notably the BioMarkTM HD System...
Fluidigm Corporation has announced that Rujin Hospital in Shanghai, China has used the company's integrated fluidic circuits (IFCs) to help validate two new susceptibility loci for Graves' disease. Researchers applied the unique properties of the Fluidigm 96.96 Dynamic Array IFC and the EP1 System to re-genotype selected SNPs for the replication study...
Fluidigm Corporation has announced a collaboration with BD Biosciences, a segment of BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), to co-host a public seminar series on the isolation and analysis of single cells. Entitled 'A Powerful Technique for Single-Cell Analysis', the public seminar series will showcase cell isolation using the BD FACSAria III Cell Sorter and analysis using the Fluidigm BioMark HD System.
Fluidigm has added a new genre - customer web videos to the wide array of topical information (publications, application notes, posters, newsletters, press releases) available from its website. Eve Marquis, Marketing Manager of Fluidigm Europe commented "Online video creates a more personal interaction between Fluidigm and our target audience in Single Cell, Gene Expression, SNP Genotyping, Next Generation Sequencing and Copy Number Variation markets...
Fluidigm has announced that the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard has purchased an Access ArrayTM System to automate its sample preparation for targeted resequencing. The Access Array System enhances the capabilities of powerful next-generation sequencing platforms by allowing the preparation of several sample libraries in parallel...
Fluidigm Corporation has introduced its 192.24 Dynamic ArrayTM IFC, designed to genotype 192 samples against 24 SNP assays in a single run, providing 4,608 data points in just one hour. The 192.24 integrated fluidic circuit (IFC) has immediate applicability in agricultural biotechnology and genome wide association studies...
Fluidigm Corporation has announced the availability of new assays and primers optimized for the company's integrated fluidic circuit technology. Fluidigm Assays and Target-specific Primers will provide customers with significantly lower costs than today's standard solutions, at volumes appropriate for microfluidics, and flexible chemistries so that customers can easily create highly multiplexed panels using off-the-shelf and custom content focused on their particular research area. As part of the program, Fluidigm will provide the assay primer locus sequences with every order...
Fluidigm has announced that its Singapore factory has now manufactured and shipped more than 1 billion microscopic NanoFlexTM valves. Each NanoFlex valve is so small that it takes 10 to span the width of a human hair. The billion valves built into Fluidigm's integrated fluidic circuits (IFCs) are equivalent to the number of valves required for all the conventional plumbing for every home in California, Texas and New York (the three most populous states in the United States of America)...
Fluidigm Europe has announced a new technical report that describes experimentation on a normal human genomic DNA sample using a prototype 200k Digital Array Chip on a modified BioMarkTM System.
Fluidigm has announced that MLL Munich Leukemia Laboratory (www.mll.com) has used the company's Access ArrayTM technology to help it uncover mutations in over 80 percent of chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML) patients, providing new insights into the molecular heterogeneity of the disease. MLL researchers applied the unique properties of the Fluidigm Access Array System to prepare the samples and barcode the amplicons for next-generation deep-sequencing using 454 sequencing technology...
Using Fluidigm Corporation's BioMarkTM System and Digital ArrayTM integrated fluidic circuits (IFCs), researchers from the University of California San Francisco (UCSF)** have identified serum microRNAs that can serve as biomarkers for prostate cancer...
Fluidigm has introduced the new BioMarkTM HD Real-time PCR System, the company's most advanced instrument for genomic analysis ever. The BioMark HD System is designed for researchers who require the sensitivity and throughput needed to study gene expression down to the single-cell level -- especially those who have limited amounts of sample or study rare populations of cells.
Fluidigm has launched a new comprehensively featured website designed to offer a wide variety of useful information to life science organisations involved with gene expression, single cell research, SNP genotyping, target resequencing, NGS sample preparation and determination of copy number variation.
Available from Fluidigm Europe - a recent independent feature in Technology Review Magazine calls Fluidigm's technology "a fundamental breakthrough in how researchers can interact with the biological world".
Fluidigm Corporation has announced that MLL Munich Leukemia Laboratory has purchased Access ArrayTM and EP1TM Systems. The Access Array System is being used in combination with Roche's 454 GS FLX and GS Junior sequencing instruments, enabling high-throughput targeted deep-resequencing analyses. The EP1 System is being used for rare mutation detection studies and minimal residual disease investigations.
